About the Sound

Tamerlan
May 24, 2015

The very first idea behind the sound of Tamerlan was the more atmospheric take on black metal. However, due to the certain dogmas which this direction bears, the whole style turns more into the minimalistic ethereal ambient style. The whole point was to present the real and unreal emotions in the most natural way possible, so the sound constantly evolves with more and more elements, thus going through the spheres of dark ambient, neofolk, dark folk and gothic spheres, ending where it is today, where it combines all of the mentioned directions, while still evolving further.

The instruments used by Tamerlan are: classical, acoustic and bass guitars, keyboards, lute, percussions, various non musical instruments and field recordings.

The majority of Tamerlan's materal was instrumental, but the album “AIN” sees the addition of vocals, which is the element that will follow his future material.
